Details how four Chinese power brands that have taken different routes to diversification and globalization. Galanz, which was set up in 1978 and produces microwave ovens; SVA, which was established in 1995 but has transformed itself from a conventional TV manufacturer into a leading electronics company; TCL, which makes tape cassettes; Changhong, a manufacturer of television sets.
