Comments on the articles about the sudden appearance of a clump of endangered plants in a proposed 21-acre subdivision near the town of Sebastopol in Sonoma County, published in the journals "Santa Rose Press Democrat" and the "Santa Rosa Chronicle." Comment of California Fish and Game botanist Gene Cooley regarding the articles; Effort of Cooley to determine the endangered meadowfoam from common snowy meadowfoam; Possibility that the meadowfoam could have sprouted long dormant seed in the proposed subdivision after the wet winter and spring experienced by the state in 2005.
