ABSTRACT
The article comments on improved pedestrian safety in streets in Salt Lake City, Utah. After witnessing an accident involving a pedestrian in 2000, Mayor Rocky Anderson made pedestrian safety a priority. The city has installed countdown crosswalk clocks and made orange flags available for pedestrians to carry at mid-block crosswalks.
