This article presents information about sound editing and mixing in making the film "Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." The mandate for the film was that conventional workflow be put aside for one that would seamlessly integrate sound editing and mixing, if not obliterate the distinction between the two jobs. While the original four mixing stages were modified and in some cases expanded, the most notable change was the construction of a wing that added nine sound design rooms. Most of the premixing on the film would take place in two of those rooms, where the primary dialog and sound effects editors, Chris Scarabosio and Tom Myers, would also function as re-recording mixers.
