ABSTRACT
This article reports on the decision of RadiSys Corp., a supplier of advanced embedded systems based in Hillsboro, Oregon, to expand its partnership with MontaVista Software, a Linux software platform for communications, to deliver MontaVista Carrier Grade Linux solutions as of June 1, 2005. As an original equipment manufacturer partner since December 2004, RadiSys and MontaVista Software have been actively engaged in the market developing and deploying MontaVista(R) Linux(R) Carrier Grade Edition and MontaVista(R) Linux(R) Professional Edition for Radisys' CompactPCI and Promentum (TM) family of AdvancedTCA(R) platforms. MontaVista is a member of the RadiSys Alliance Program (RAP), an ecosystem of technology companies that provide complementary solutions to RadiSys products. Through RAP, telecom equipment manufacturers have access to integrated solutions that are ideal for carrier grade applications such as softswitches, Serving GPRS Support Node and Gateway GPRS Support Node, Radio Network Controllers and voice over IP gateways, among others. More telecommunication manufacturers are looking to MontaVista Linux as a strategic platform to develop their carrier grade solutions according to Scott Jaffe, worldwide vice president, business development, MontaVista Software.
