Trade Publication
The article presents information on books related to basketball. The number of books on basketball (2,316 in print) has been fairly stagnant in recent years, partly due to a generation of superstars retiring and possible overexposure of the sport. Still, a couple hundred titles per year are churned out by publishers. The peak year for basketball books in the last decade was 1997, when 286 books on the sport were published. By 2004, the number had dropped 24% to 216 new titles. 91 books on basketball have been published or announced for publication so far in 2005.
