ABSTRACT
This article reports on a failed business deal between Land Rover North America Inc. and BLS Limousine in 1999. In late February, Land Rover thought it had a glamorous deal in the making. BLS Limousine had approached the high-line importer of sport vehicles about providing 10 black-on-black Range Rovers to transport some of the stars for the March 21 U.S. Academy Awards ceremony. As much as Land Rover coveted the part, a company source said BLS had wanted the deal to include several of the $60,000-plus Range Rovers for personal as well as professional use. Thus, Land Rover rejected the offer.
