ABSTRACT
The article presents information about Apple Computer Inc. Over the past few years, the company has stepped up efforts to make its products more available to consumers via retail storefronts, rather than remaining consigned to mail-order distribution, in a bid to increase its relatively small desktop computer market share. Part of this outward growth has come in the form of Apple-branded retail stores, of which the company currently operates 100 units in the U.S. and five stores internationally in Japan and Great Britain, including the recent opening of a store in Birmingham, England.
