ABSTRACT
This article presents information related to Dominion Mining Ltd. that reported that it has started underground production at its Challenger gold mine in South Australia with milling of first high-grade underground ore achieving initial grade reconciliations of 108% with a head grade of 11.7 g/mt gold. This compares with the modeled reserve grade of 10.8 g/mt gold. Full-scale underground production is now under way at Challenger, with stoping commencing on the upper levels of the mine. Grades achieved during development of these sublevels were also excellent, according to the company, with mill reconciliation of this development ore indicating an average grade of 11.2 g/mt gold.
