This article focuses on matters related to swimmer Nicholas Caldwell. Swimming in his hometown of Fort Myers, Florida at Florida Gulf Coast University, Caldwell bettered the national distance record for 11-year-old boys by swimming the 2000 yard freestyle in 21:6:03. Nicholas, who swims for the Fort Myers' Gulf Coast Swim Team, also finished second in both the 500 yard free and the 400 IM. He ended the 2003-2004 swimming season with several national age group rankings. He was fourth in the nation in the 500 yard free and 200 meter free, seventh in the 100 meter fly, ninth in the 200 yard free and 16th in the 100 yard fly.
