ABSTRACT
This article reports that Coach Mark Schubert is one of the sport's most recognizable and successful coaches of all time. Mark is in his 12th year as head coach of the University of Southern California men's swimming team and 11th in charge of the women's team. Internationally, after Athens last summer, Schubert completed his third stint as a United States Swimming head coach and his seventh consecutive assignment as an Olympic coach. Since breaking onto the national scene as head coach of the internationally renowned and highly successful Mission Viejo Nadadores in 1972, the list of swimmers he has coached reads like a "Who's Who in Swimming," including Brian Coodell, Shirley Babashoff, Sippy Woodhead, Janet Evans, Dara Torres, Mary T. Meagher, Tiffany Cohen and Leigh Ann Fetter to name a few.
