ABSTRACT
This article reports on the decision of FreeShop.com, a 4-year-old fledgling Internet site, to hire advertising agency Bozell Worldwide to develop brand advertising to create awareness and drive traffic, in the U.S. in March 1999. According to Bill Fritsch, executive vice president for sales and marketing of the site, Bozell was selected primarily because he has good relationships with talented people there. He said the campaign currently is at the conceptual level and will likely be a mix of print and radio at the outset, with television perhaps to follow.
