This article provides information on the national distribution program and marketing campaign for the relaunch of Famous Amos, the chocolate chip cookie line created by founder Wally Amos, in May 1999. Beginning in May 1995, Famous Amos is getting a packaging facelift, two flavors and a national promotion courtesy of Keebler Co. Even without national distribution and advertising support, however, Famous Amos managed a U.S. $ 54 million in sales, according to Information Resources Inc. For that reason, Keebler has high hopes for the relaunch.
