The article presents brief news related to legal service firms in Great Britain. It is reported that the law firm Linklaters' managing partner Tony Angel has finished the 2005 London Marathon in just under four and a half hours. Angel, who ran the marathon to raise money to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis, finished the 26.3-mile course in a highly creditable four hours and 28 minutes. Further, the author expresses surprise that the ignorance of the nuances of the new Licensing Act extends as far as those leading lights of the licensing world Poppleston Allen. Allen blames the late release of the regulations, complex forms and guidance notes, licensee apathy and general confusion.
