ABSTRACT
This article describes the office environment and decoration of textile designer Marian Clayden. Clayden's offices and studio are located in Los Gatos, California, on the sheltered, eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The welcoming office, where one can visit and shop, features many photographs of models in her garments. Three-way mirrors reflect rolling racks and travel trunks, decorated with battered luggage tags for Air Alaska, Virgin, and others. Wolf dress forms wait the time when they will be needed for fittings. The office/showroom atmosphere is very pleasant, making it easy to understand why Clayden has such a loyal local following.
