NFC Forum announces additional roster members

The Near Field Communication (NFC) Forum, a nonprofit industry association launched by Nokia, Philips, and Sony, has announced that 20 more organizations from around the world have joined. According to representatives, the forum will deliver technology that will revolutionize the way consumer electronics devices are used. It aims to promote the implementation and standardization of NFC technology to ensure interoperability between devices and services. The group's new sponsor members include MasterCard, Matsushita Electric Industrial, Microsoft, Motorola, NEC, Samsung, Texas Instruments, and Visa. All have received seats on the forum's board of directors. The group's sponsor members represent the leading players in key industries in the world's major regions. Additional organizations joining the forum in other membership categories include 3ALogics, Cetecom Spain, Gemplus, Giesecke & Devrient, Innovision Research & Technology, JCB, LG Electronics, Logitech, MeT, Mobey Forum, Skidata, and Smart System Technologies.
