ABSTRACT
The article presents statistical information on global technology underwriting volume as of 11, 2005 and other developments in the corporate world. Microsoft Corp. has announced that it filed eight lawsuits against resellers of software and systems last week, alleging unlicensed and counterfeit computer program distribution. It also announced it would pay $150 million to Gateway 2000 Inc. to settle charges that Gateway was harmed by its Windows policy. Baker Capital Corp., the New York-based investment firm, announced last week that it purchased MusicNet, the online venture created by the music industry to promote legal downloading.
