ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's views about the thirty-second annual Florida Association for Media in Education(FAME) conference in Tampa, Florida. If one was unable to attend the conference one missed three full days of the best professional development for school librarians in the southeast. Collaboration is critical to realizing the potential as contributing professionals in today's schools, but there are barriers to collaboration. The key to opening the door to collaboration is demonstrating to the faculty colleagues that there is an overlap in many Sunshine State Standards (SSSs) that have traditionally been taught separately in the classroom and the media center.
