This section presents statistics related to finance. 15 percent of retirees lost half or more of their total wealth from 1992 to 2002. Three billion dollars has been donated to charity by Bill and Melinda Gates from their Microsoft dividends. The wealthiest one percent in America donates two percent of their income. 39 percent of respondents trust themselves the most regarding finances, versus 16 percent who trust a professional financial advisor the most. 15-year-old Americans ranked 15th in math among 29 industrialized nations. 37 percentage of single women are more likely to be charitable donors than single men.
