ABSTRACT
The article reports that Orlando City Commissioners recently voted 4 to 2 to hold a special election on May 3, 2005 so voters can choose an interim mayor until the fate of the mayor they elected in 2004 last year is resolved. Mayor Buddy Dyer was suspended from office by Governor Jeb Bush March 11, 2005 after he was indicted by a grand jury for allegedly paying a consultant to collect absentee ballots, a felony violation of state election laws. The article also reports that Governor of Kentuky, Ernie Fletcher signed into law a budget bill for fiscal 2004-06 that includes almost $2 billion of bonds for projects throughout the state.
