MSRB Files Amendment to Rule G-39 on Telemarketing

The article reports that the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board recently filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission an amendment to its Rule G-39 on telemarketing designed to make the rule conform with changes that the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communications Commission recently made to their rules. The safe harbor prevents a broker or dealer from being liable for a violation of the do-not-call rules if it commits an error and deviates from routine business practices that meet certain standards.
