The article reports that the Chicago Fed national activity index for February 2005 was positive 0.37, up from a downwardly revised positive 0.13 reading in January 2005, originally reported as positive 0.21. Meanwhile, the three-month moving average, grew to positive 0.43 in February 2005 from an upwardly revised positive 0.34 in January 2005, originally reported as positive 0.29. The index is a weighted average of 85 indicators of national economic activity, and is constructed to have an average value of zero and a standard deviation of one.
