ABSTRACT
In a series of investigations carried out for many years on the semiology of peripheral vascular murmurs, the Authors have studied also the modifications of arterial acoustic findings induced in young subjects by intravenous infusions of Adrenalin in increasing doses. The arterial sounds or murmurs, or the increase of arterial sounds, already present before, are obtainable even with doses of 1 gamma/min of Adrenalin; they become most evident with higher doses of 8 gamma/min. These phenomena are constantly accompanied by an increase in the circulation rate and a decrease of the ventricular ejection time. The acoustic findings on peripheral arteries, induced by Adrenalin, are connected with the phenomena of cardiovascular hyperactivity provoked by the drug.
