ABSTRACT
Reports that state officials of Hawaii has eradicated its expected shortfalls and set the state for projected revenue growth as far out as 2011, as the state's economy rebounded over the past years. Percentage of increase expected by the officials from the state's general fund reserves; Impact of recording visitor numbers and employment levels and the effort of Governor Linda Lingle to cut government costs in the recovery of the state's economy; Recommendation of the governor to raise the standard income deduction which would increase the number of lower-income people exempt from paying the state's income tax.
