ABSTRACT
This article presents information about the new business diversifying strategy of the company, Taylor Wessing, termed as "esteams." It is reported that "esteams" stands for: "excellence," "service," "teamwork," "enjoyment," "accountability," "mutual respect," and "stewardship." The article further focuses on the highlight of Clifford Chance LLP's partnership retreat of 2004 which was considered to be the moment in the bar when one prominent London partner has expressed views on the California practice to Tower Snow. With the U.S. practice turning in disappointing figures this year, the management, supposedly, must have been worried about hawkish London, England-based partners confronting their New York City-based colleagues again. Concerning the new Pensions Bill of Great Britain, that is to be implemented in April 2005, the private equity sector of the country, reportedly, is facing challenges. Last week the company, Inland Revenue, has abolished tax relief on interest because private equity deals are claimed to tend to be highly leveraged.
