This article presents information regarding financial performances and growth of several companies of France that are included in the recent M&A (mergers and acquisitions) league tables and that are to be seen in the "The Lawyer Euro 100" ranking list on April 25, 2005. The firm, Bredin Prat's role for Aventis Corp. as the company, reportedly, has launched its hostile bid for Sanofi-Synthelabo SA meant the French independent overtook Clifford Chance LLP and the firm, Linklaters, to come top of the table. It is reported that 8 of the top 10 firms appearing in Mergermarket's French M&A tables by value for the full year had roles on the Sanofi deal. After the merger, Bredin Prat's turnover, reportedly, rose by 8 per cent to £30.9m from 2003's £26.8m on the back of its involvement in such deals as Sanofi. Darrois Villey, another French firm to benefit from Sanofi, had its strongest ever year, as reported by its managing partner. Turnover at Jeantet & Associés rose 10 per cent between 2003 and 2004 to £21.8m.
