ABSTRACT
The article reports that β-blockers reduce mortality and therapy withdrawal in heart failure but increase dizziness and bradycardia. Other side effects attributable to β-blockers include depression and sexual dysfunction. In patients with heart failure and systolic dysfunction, one should not be deterred by the relatively minor side effect profiles of β-blockers, especially given the survival benefit associated with these agents
