ABSTRACT
Seventeen cases of atypical coarctation were described. One was preisthmic in type and 6 were cases of coarctation of the abdominal aorta. These 7 cases are considered to be congenital. In the other 10 cases elongated coarctation from the lower portion of the descending aorta to the abdominal aorta was associated with occlusive lesion of the brachiocephalic arteries. They should be grouped into the same category as pulseless disease (Takayasu's disease). Chronic arteritis is the most plausible etiology in these cases.

A case of coarctation of the aorta with a bicuspid aortic valve and aortic insufficiency is presented in whom the ballistocardiograms revealed an accentuation of the depth of the K wave over the expected foreshortened K wave in un- complicated coarctation of the aorta. This increase in the K...

Two cases with Taussig-Bing malformation with severe coarctation of the aorta have been described. In both cases the ventricular septal defect was related mainly to the pulmonary valve. In normal anatomy, the left pulmonary artery (LPA) is usually situated higher than the right pulmonary artery (RPA); however, transposition of the great arteries (TGA), the LPA is not always situated higher than the RPA.
