Purpose: The purpose of this study was to report our experience of fingertip replantation without venous anastomosis using alternate method to counter post-operative venous congestion. Methods: 30 Patients (18 men and 12 women) with 30 fingertip amputations (Tamai zone I) were treated with...

Describes a method which utilizes the excess prosthetic bifurcation graft material to achieve the dual objectives of strengthening the suture site and of preventing its adherence to the overlying duodenum. Cause of blood leakage following a vascular anastomosis; Effectiveness of the method.

Usually a single end-to-end anastomosis on a middle-size vessel cannot be performed in less than twenty minutes with either separate or continuous suture technique. For easy and quick anastomoses the authors studied 12 dogs with a sutureless concept. With this method proximal and distal ends of...

Peripheral traumatic arteriovenous fistulas are common in war but rare in peacetime. A traumatic case of posterior tibial arteriovenous fistula caused by an accidental flying piece of steel is reported. Some pathogenic, diagnostic and therapeutic points of arteriovenous fistulae of the tibial...

The aim of this study was to test a clip system for vascular anastomoses. Clinical use of these clips in 102 vascular reconstructions was performed in 70 patients with or without a prosthetic graft. The mean time to perform an anastomosis was shortened approximately 10%–60% using the...

Objective: Under conditions of tissue hypoxia total CO2 production (VCO2) should be less reduced than O2 consumption (VO2) since an anaerobic CO2 production should occur. Thus the VCO2/VO2 ratio, and hence the venoarterial CO2 tension difference/arteriovenous O2 content difference ratio...
