ABSTRACT
Vascular injury with intimal separation and subsequent thrombosis, is believed to be a much more frequent occurrence than has hitherto been recognized. Only by maintaining a high index of suspicion may the diagnosis be made and subsequent disability prevented. Arteriography may occasionally be helpful. Excision of the involved segment and end to-end anastomosis is the treatment of choice.
