ABSTRACT
Discusses the structure of intermediate circulation of the rat spleen. Striking differences of the splenic circulation in rat and mouse; Possibility that the capillary pattern of the rat is an infantile characteristic, pulp spaces developing later in animals too large to be employed in the experimental technique; Investigation on the circulation in the mouse under a superior optical condition.

This article informs that researcher Marmorsten-Gottesman and colleagues noted that during the course of a T. lewisi infection in rats the spleen of the animals increased in size. Since an increase in spleen size is often correlated with a hyperactivity of the reticulo-endothelial system, it...

Introduction A torted wandering spleen is a rare clinical occurrence with fewer than 500 cases reported and an incidence of less than 0.2%. It is brought about through laxity of the gastrosplenic and splenorenal ligaments; however, the precise aetiology remains unknown. It can prove to be a...

To develop a long-circulating theragnostics, meaning therapeutics and diagnostics for MR-guided HIFU ablation, we designed and prepared Gd-C5F12-phospholipid nanobubbles (PLNs) 30-100 nm in diameter. The biochemical and physical characterization of Gd-C5F12-PLNs were performed. Since...

The phenotype of developing liver NK cells (CD3-NK1.1+) was investigated during mouse ontogeny comparing with spleen NK cells. The highest percentage of hepatic CD27-CD11b- NK cells occurred at the fetal stage. After birth, the percentage of CD27- CD11b-NK cells in both the liver and spleen...

The aim of this study was to apply a random marking volumetric technique in MR images for estimation of spleen volume. The MR imaging was performed in phantoms and 16 patients with indications unrelated to splenic disease. Images were transferred to a workstation to perform volumetric...
