ABSTRACT
This article focuses on strategies and techniques in looking for the right logistics provider in the U.S. Composition of the logistic industry is discussed by the author. The author contends that logistics program rarely meet the expectations of buyers, operations and the ultimate customer. The fifteen second rule where one can able to explain the nature of the business to a stranger within that duration; is crucial in knowing the needs of one's organization before beginning to search for a logistics provider. Implementation of a well-thought-out selection process is a must in order to execute the company's business plan. Value proposition, factors other than price that compel a buyer to choose a product over the other, is needed in business. Buyers of transportation must work towards creating a relationship with their logistics and managing companies, eliminating those that do not meet or exceed expectations.
