ABSTRACT
A 42 year old female with scleroderma had the electrocardiographic findings of first degree A-V block with a normal QRS duration. A His electrogram was obtained in order to evaluate the conduction system. An abnormal prolongation of the PA, AH and HQ interval was demonstrated. Thus, a delay in conduction was present at the atrial level, A-V node and the His-Purkinje system.

A novel method involving internal photoemission has been developed to determine the conduction band discontinuity Δ Ec of heterojunctions. The method is straightforward, accurate, and assumes minimum unknowns; and has been applied to GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs heterojunctions. We have found for x<0.4...

We have observed optical transitions between the first subbands of the conduction band and the split-off valence band in GaSb/AlSb quantum well structures. The well width dependence of the emission energies is traced to quantization in the conduction band and in the split-off band. By comparison...

The band structure of Bi2Ru2O7 and Pb2Ru2O6.5 has been computed self-consistently from first principles for the first time by the pseudofunction method. We discover that the 6s bands of Bi and Pb are very deep and unlikely to contribute to the metallic behavior as previously believed. The...

Abstract. A model of deep and shallow traps has been applied in order to explain the temporal development of the signal wave amplification as well as the pump wave depletion in two-wave-mixing experiments in the crystal Ba[sub 0.23]Ca[sub 0.77]TiO[sub 3] (BCT). The intensities of the outgoing...
