ABSTRACT
The article reports that springtime should see biodiesel production in Great Britain mushroom when two plants capable of turning vegetable oil or animal fats into an eco-friendly fuel additive come online. Commissioning began this month at Argent Energy's plant near Motherwell. The £15 million plant will produce 45,000 tonnes of biodiesel a year after it opens in April, briefly making it the biggest in the country and dwarfing current British output of 10,000-15,000 tonnes. Another plant, run by Biofuels Corp., will have an annual capacity of 250,000 tonnes.
