ABSTRACT
Cites a study on the uptake of chylomicron triglyceride fatty acids by the inner and outer segments of rabbit aorta and the effects of medium triglyceride concentration. Availability of informations about the pathways of lipid synthesis in the mammalian aortic wall; Methods used for the study; Exploration of the possibility that hydrolysis of plasma triglyceride at the endothelial surface might be a prerequisite for aortic uptake of triglyceride fatty acids; Discussion on the advantage of the preferential esterification of aortic free fatty acids to phospholipids in perfused aorta.
