ABSTRACT
The article reports that a legislation in Indiana that would have limited the bonds that local municipalities could issue to help fund broadband infrastructure projects was withdrawn last week. Several communities across the state have begun broadband infrastructure projects. The bill, which was similar to a law passed in Pennsylvania, would have prevented local municipalities from developing Internet service infrastructure if local private telecommunications companies already offered the service. The legislation's sponsor, Representative Jack Lutz, withdrew it while it was still before the House's Local Government Committee
