Blake Lapthorn notches up coup for IP with specialist hire from Taylor Vinters

This article reports that Southampton-based Blake Lapthorn Linnell has delivered a blow to Cambridge firm Taylor Vinters, securing its head of technology Simon Smith. One of the most high-profile technology and IP lawyers in East Anglia, Smith specialises in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and telecoms. Last year his work included advising BioWisdom on its IP strategies. Blake Lapthorn first acquired capability in East Anglia when it merged with 22-partner Oxford firm Linnells in 2003. Blake Lapthorn last year posted a turnover of £30.5m.
