The article presents information on various executives recruited by the fire departments in the U.S. Michael Knowlton became chief of the Cammack Village, Arkansas Fire Department in January 2005. Tom Carr became the first Montgomery County, Maryland, fire chief on January 1, 2005 after a nationwide search. Larry Rogers, fire chief of Claxton, Georgia, Volunteer Fire Department, was killed on December 13, 2005 returning from a structure fire. King George, Virginia, Fire Department-Company No. 1 was among 22 people killed in a suicide attack on a mess tent December 21, 2004 at a U.S. military base in Mosul, Iraq.
