The article reports that eight Chicago-area issuers have asked their auditor, Deloitte & Touche LLP, to end a policy that the firm must review offering statements for bond sales that include a completed audit from the firm, an issue that will be on the agenda for this month's meeting of the Govemment Finance Officers Association. Finance officials with Chicago, Cook County, the City Colleges of Chicago, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, the Chicago Housing Authority, the Regional Transportation Authority, and the Chicago Transit Authority sent a letter to the firm saying they would seek other auditors if Deloitte refuses to reconsider the policy.
