ABSTRACT
The article reports that Thermo Electron Corp. has published product specifications on its' Hand Count Alpha/Beta Sample Counter. This system is controlled by a Palm hand-held computer that communicates with a modular detector board to perform counting operations. The Palm computing platform provides cost-effective advantages over other systems; notably the informative color screen, controls, internal clock and powerful database capabilities.

We have developed a fast multihit position and time sensitive detector with zero dead-time for heavy particles in the keV energy range. This new type of detector makes use of a micro-channel plates (MCP) assembly and combines a detection based on delay line anode with a simultaneous particle...

The photoproduction of π 0 π 0 and π 0 π ± pairs off 40Ca has been investigated with the TAPS detector using the Glasgow photon tagging spectrometer at the Mainz MAMI accelerator. Data have been taken for incident photon energies in the energy range from 200-820MeV. Total...

A fast-neutron analysis (FNA) system is being developed at the Swedish Defence Research Agency. The experimental set up, consisting of a SODERN Genie 16 (D-T) 14 MeV neutron generator, a HPGe-detector, a neutron monitor detector and related electronics, is described in some detail. Results from...

Measurements of Zγ* production are presented using data collected by the DELPHI detector at centre-of-mass energies ranging from 183 to 209 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 667 pb-1. The measurements cover a wide range of the possible final state four-fermion...

pp mass threshold enhancement is studied using the data samples of J/ψ and ψ′ collected with BESIII detector in 2009. The enhancement is evident in J/ψ radiative decay, which is consistent with BESII result. No significant narrow enhancement is observed in ψ′ radiative...

We show that a low energy neutrino factory with a baseline of 1300 km and muon energy of 4.5 GeV has an excellent physics reach. The results of our optimisation studies demonstrate that such a setup can have remarkable sensitivity to θ13 and δ for sin2(2θ13)>10-4, and to the mass...
