ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the financial company CapitalSource Inc. It provides financing for the small and midsize companies that Wall Street typically ignores. The firm makes senior and mezzanine loans generally ranging from $1 million to $50 million and has the capability to underwrite much larger transactions. CapitalSource, based in Chevy Chase, Maryland, is now focused on its portfolio of loans, which will necessitate frequent and ongoing financing of the company, leading Fink to maintain close and ongoing communication with investment bankers.
