ABSTRACT
A patient was reported who underwent cholecysteetomy under the diagnosis of chronic cholecystitis with calculi and adenomyomatosis, but it proved to be an early carcinoma of the gallbladder originating in and limited to the Rokitansky-Aschoff sinus (cyst-like structure). Early carcinoma of the gallbladder in this category is rare and this case report may be the first one in the literature.

Objectives: Anomalous junction of the pancreaticobiliary duct (AJPBD) is thought to be an important risk factor for gallbladder carcinoma in Japan. In this report, we examine histopathology and cellular kinetics of gallbladder mucosae of patients with AJPBD and the possible risk of gallbladder...

Introduction: Mirizzi's syndrome is a rarely observed disorder that presents with obstructive jaundice. The condition is caused by a stone impacted in the gall bladder neck or cystic duct that impinges on the common hepatic duct, with or without a cholecystocholedochal fistula. The condition is...

The diagnosis of cystadenoma is rare, even more so when located in the extrahepatic bile duct. Unspecific clinical signs may lead this pathology to be misdiagnosed. The need for pathological anatomy in order to distinguish cystadenomas from simple biliary cysts is crucial. The most usual...
