DP abandons direct imports

The article reports that DP Furniture Express, a furniture company has closed its 106,000 Square feet distribution center in Liverpool Free Port and ended its experiment into direct importing. Great Britain-based manufacturers and importers will be the main beneficiaries of the importing strategy change, as it attempts to reintroduce brands in favor of value South American and Far Eastern imports. The Liverpool, England warehouse, which was to cost £3.3 million a year, has closed barely six months after opening in August, 2004.
