ABSTRACT
Presents a microperfusion investigation of bicarbonate transport across main duct epithelium of rat submaxillary gland. Estimation of bicarbonate by equilibrating samples with carbon dioxide and recording hydrogen-ion concentration with micro-glass-electrodes; Decline in luminal bicarbonate concentration; Concentration of bicarbonate against an electrochemical gradient.
