ABSTRACT
This article presents an interview with Christine Berry, managing partner at Taylor Vinters. On being asked on her first job, she replied that she was assistant to the late Desmond Elliott, a publisher and literary agent. She was lucky to be one of his proteges at what was described in his obituaries last year as "The University of Publishing." On being asked on her mentor, she replied Desmond Elliott, who showed that creating a successful business is great fun. It's a principle that she tries to apply to the management of a law firm, and there are moments when it works.
