ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the book "From Colwyn Bay to Kabul: An Unexpected Journey," by Christopher Rundle. This personal record of one man's experiences in Afghanistan provides enlightening accounts, from his first posting there in 1968 to the present day. His fascinating descriptions contain some surprising background information, including first hand details of Afghanistan after the Taliban. "From Colwyn Bay To Kabul" recounts a life's journey from childhood in rural Wales and Wiltshire to a career in the Foreign Office, which led to an abiding interest in Afghanistan, Iran and the neighbouring region.
