ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Olive Tree Educational Trust project for reconciling the Israeli and Palestinian people. Professor Stephen Miller, deputy vice-chancellor of London's City University and a left-wing orthodox Jew who believes in the two-state solution, explained that the project was born of an idea to help educate poor and disadvantaged students from Israel, but soon grew to become far more ambitious. With the help of the British council, non-governmental organisations, the Israel Students' Society and universities in the West Bank and Gaza, the most talented and farsighted students from the area were recruited to join the programme.
