ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan for 3d Chicago, Illinois, area airport. While Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich provided little in the way of hints during his state address yesterday as to how he will deal with a $2 billion deficit in the fiscal 2006 budget, he did offer a ringing endorsement for one of two opposing plans to build a third regional airport in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Two separate groups--one led by U.S. Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr., and the other by Wifi County officials-- are vying for control of the third airport project, originally championed by former Governor George Ryan.
