ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Seattle based investment bank Cascadia Capital LLC which disagreed with the valuation the executives of the Insight Venture Partners assigned to the firm. Cascadia provides Management and Administration, corporate finance and strategic advice along with capital markets services to the middle market. Cascadia also offers restructuring services, which sometimes call for it to balance diverging interests. Cascadia negotiated the purchase of the majority shareholder's stake and concurrently raised a combination of subordinated debt and equity capital to enable the buyout. For all of its growth last year, Cascadia remains a fairly lean operation.
