This article focuses on the importance of lighting for furniture designers and architects. They are well aware of the influence light has on moods, and as a result bend and mould light as they would wood or concrete. Altering the light on the shopfloor can have a marked difference on sales. Indeed, market research showed that Budgens Supermarkets simply changed its colour scheme and moved around its lights, managing to increase sales by 15%. By choosing inappropriate lighting without the correct usage in mind or by not considering issues such as lamp life and running costs, will potentially make any lighting scheme ineffective.
